NUFC hoping to beat Burnley, West Brom & Sheffield Utd to ‘exciting’ midfielder – Report

Newcastle are ‘actively monitoring’ Cardiff City prospect Kieron Evans, according to reports.

This comes via Wales Online, who claim that we are one of FOUR Premier League clubs showing interest in the ‘exciting’ midfielder, with ourselves, West Brom, Burnley and Sheffield United all taking a close look at the 19-year-old.

Evans is a highly-rated product of the Bluebirds academy and has recently broke into their Championship squad – being named on the bench in recent games against Norwich and Nottingham Forest.

He is a Welsh U-19 international and capable of playing either as an attacking midfielder or out wide.

The report also states that interest in Evans has ‘intensified’ in recent days, with his current contract at Cardiff due to expire this summer as things stand.

On the subject of top young talents linked with moves to Tyneside, the Evening Standard reckon Crystal Palace are now in talks with Juventus defender Radu Dragusin – a player who has been regularly linked with a pre-contract move to St James’ Park.
