Mike Ashley: “Newcastle fans have won the lottery but are being refused a payout”

Sky Sports North East correspondent Keith Downie relayed a telling takeover message from Mike Ashley live on air.

Amid the High Court decision to rule against NUFC’s applications to remove a Chairman from the arbitration process, Ashley told the media that he will fight “tooth and nail” to ensure that our club is sold.

However, the most emphatic message is the perfect analogy he used to describe our takeover situation, saying how Newcastle fans have “won the lottery” with the Saudis but are being refused their payout by the Premier League in the form of a £300m buyout that promises to transform the club and inject a much needed boost to the region’s prospects:

‘Newcastle fans have won the lottery but are being refused a payout

  1. Erm who is Ashley trying to kid, won the lottery but can’t get the pay out lol. Who is he trying to kid we are serious contenders to get relegated, have a manager who hasn’t got a clue and a squad that isn’t upto Premier league standard. That’s defo not what I would call a lottery win lol. If we don’t get new owners get rid of one of the worst managers we have ever had all I can see is dropping down league to league, vauxhall conference in 5 years time

  2. We all know that Ashley does not care about this club, but now he’s running scared and hopes to Sell the club before his idiot manager sinks the ship for good.
Hopefully, if a takeover does happen please SACK Turnip Brain then make sure he never gets another Management position in English Football.
My Granddaughter has more sense than this Clown. ⏳⏱️?
