Alan Shearer has named Kevin De Bruyne and Harry Kane as the two current top flight stars who he would have loved to play with during his time on Tyneside.
Our record goalscorer was taking part in a Q&A with Toon fans from India (yes, there are Newcastle fans in India!) when one of them asked Big Al which player he’d have loved on his side during his playing days at St James’ Park.
Being the hungry goalscorer that he is, Shearer said Man City star De Bruyne without much hesitation, with the Belgian having the ability to put it on a sixpence for any striker in world football.
His second pick was England captain Kane, which left him sceptical as to whether the two of them would occupy the same positions as they are both out-and-out predators inside the penalty area.
One of the Newcastle fans joked that with these two in the side, Shearer would have reached 400 Premier League goals!
