Sky Sports pundit names points total & number of wins NUFC need to stay up above Fulham & Brighton

Tim Sherwood believes that we need another THREE wins in order to secure our Premier League status for next season.

The former Spurs, Blackburn and Norwich midfielder thinks that relegation rivals Brighton and Fulham will turn in a few wins, so feels Steve Bruce’s side may have to reach 38 points to make sure of survival.

We have been on a shocking run of form that has seen us win just twice in 19 games, making three wins in our final 10 games seem a daunting task – especially when we still have Spurs, West Ham, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City and Leicester to play!

Here’s what the Sky Sports pundit had to say on our survival hopes:

“When I look at the table I still think they need three wins.

“I think you need 38 points to stay in the league, I really do this year.

“I think Brighton will turn a few wins in and certainly the way Fulham are playing, they are going to create a few wins for themselves.

“I just think you need to find some wins.”

Our final two games see us face Sheffield United at home before a trip to Fulham on the last day of the season.

Those fixtures will be absolutely crucial to our fate – if it isn’t already decided by that point – with upcoming clashes with Brighton and Burnley in two of our next three games also massive.

The truth is, we can’t buy one win let alone three, hence why the bookies now have us as the favourite to go down along with West Brom and Sheffield United.

With Almiron having an outside chance of returning at Brighton and Bruce hopeful Saint-Maximin and Wilson could return after the international break, we’ll have to hope our attacking trio can inspire us to a few unlikely wins!
