Newcastle eyeing £7m Süper Lig striker, but could lose one of their own to Galatasaray – Reports

Newcastle are believed to be one of several Premier League clubs showing interest in Turkish League top scorer Aaron Boupendza.

This comes via an ‘exclusive’ from 90min.com, with the 24-year-old said to have impressed the club’s recruitment team after an outstanding 18 goals in 26 games this season.

It’s claimed the Gabon international is keen to follow in the footsteps of countryman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and secure a move to the Premier League – not that our status is secure as things stand!

Krasnador recently had a £7m bit accepted for the striker, however the player himself turned down a move to Russia.

On the subject of strikers in Turkey, The Mirror report that one of our very own could be heading in the opposite direction this summer, stating that Galatasaray are keen on Dwight Gayle.

As things stand, the 30-year-old will leave the club on a free this summer, with his current deal due to expire in June.

Some feel we should be offering him a new contract incase he’s needed in the event of relegation, but will a player with just TWO league starts under his belt all season really want to stick around for another stint in the second tier?

Any move to Galatasaray would see him link up with ex-Mag DeAndre Yedlin, however The Mirror do report that he also has interest from Saudi and Qatar – somewhere that might appeal for one last big pay day!
