Eddie Howe’s stance on Newcastle United job revealed in new report

Eddie Howe is keen on a return to management and would be “open” to offers from NUFC, according to The Chronicle.

The former Bournemouth manager has been out of work since leaving his post at The Cherries following their relegation last season.

He has been linked with a move to Scottish giants Celtic, but many Toon fans have called for him to make the move to Tyneside should Steve Bruce be sacked.

Now, The Chronicle are reporting that he would consider taking the Newcastle job should Mike Ashley come calling.

Howe would fit the bill on Tyneside – regardless of the division we are playing in next season.

He adopts a positive playing style that could really get the best out of our current crop; some in the squad have already played under him in Matt Ritchie, Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson

Should the worst case scenario happen and we succumb to relegation this season, I would feel fairly confident in our promotion hopes if we kept a hold of our spine and Howe was at the wheel leading the charge.

  1. That’s right = let’s get more that have taken club’s into the championship and sacked by the club (!!!???)

We need a MANAGER that will / can have an immediate impact

Plus has the skill set to bring us back as MD Charmless has AGAIN left it too late (!!??)

How are these numpty’s STILL in jobs?

  2. In 1989 I was working for an American company in Saudi Arabia.

Things were not going well with the company. It was being run into the ground and some of the decisions that were being made were unbelievable.

So they sent 2 of the top company bosses out from the States to give us a pep talk.

One of these high fliers had previously been US military and had been the Watch Officer on duty when the USS Vincennes, a US Missile Destroyer, had mistakenly crossed into Iranian Waters, sunk Iranian gunboats and then mistakenly (again) shot down an Iranian Airliner , believing it to be an enemy F14.
His colleague turned out to have been Operations Chief at NASA when the Challenger Space shuttle “went up”.
Our three year contract ran out of money at 18 months.

I mention this just to point out that when it comes to failures in leadership, I have a little experience.

So what is this fascination Toon fans have with replacing Bruce with managers who have a recent history of getting their teams relegated? Last week it was Wilder now it’s Howe?

OK they didn’t blow anything up but they hardly inspire confidence!

It’s not that long ago that you were all screaming and shouting about Rafa’s record, now it’s “I’d be happy to have Wilder”, or “Howe would be a good manager to have”.

How about a bit of consistency?
Now wonder other teams’ fans don’t have good things to say about us. We’re pretty much clueless.

  3. We don’t have a fascination about having a relegated manager, it’s journalists that keep spouting the same drivel in **** articles like this..Takeover, Arbitration, the manager and relegation.
Doesn’t matter if anything is true as they don’t have to quote there ‘sources close to’………
