Watch Elliot Anderson score 120th minute stunner at SJP to send NUFC into FA Youth Cup quarter final

Elliot Anderson’s case for a first team call-up has grown even stronger today, with the local lad sending our U18’s into the FA Youth Cup quarter finals via a moment of magic at St James’ Park.

After taking the lead twice through Lucas De Bolle and Dylan Stephenson, two Watford goals sent the game into extra time on Tyneside.

The tie looked all set to go to penalties, however captain fantastic Elliot Anderson stepped up with this brilliant free-kick in the 120th minute:

The brilliant last gasp goal means our U18’s will now play either Aston Villa or Burton Albion in the quarter finals of the FA Youth Cup, capping off what has been a great day all round for Newcastle United.

Anderson has been training with the senior side for some time and looked the part in a cup cameo against Arsenal in January, however we’re yet to see him make his Premier League debut.

Let’s hope we can secure survival ASAP and see Steve Bruce give him a chance sooner rather than later.

What a talent we look to have on our hands!
