Alan Shearer has named TWO Newcastle United stars in his Premier League Team of the Week – Allan Saint-Maximin and Martin Dubravka.
The Frenchman’s inclusion is no surprise after his assist and stunning solo goal on Sunday, however it is also good to see the Slovakian included in his side – a player who was one of the unsung heroes from that huge 2-1 win at Burnley.
Dubravka not only made key saves to stop it going 2-0 – stopping a potential Dummett own goal and long-range strike from Lowton – but commanded his box superbly from a host of high balls into the box
Here’s Shearer’s team in full, with the NUFC duo picked alongside West Ham’s Jesse Lingard and Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold:
Saint-Maximin was an almost certain inclusion – and rightly so for his heroics from the bench – but it’s good to see Shearer pay tribute to what was a commanding display from Dubravka.
Without him, the second half comeback may not have been possible.
