David Moyes looks set to be without THREE key players ahead of West Ham’s trip to St James’ Park on Saturday.
Striker Michail Antonio has suffered a reassurance of a recent hamstring injury and Declan Rice has been ruled out for several weeks with a knee problem, but it seems left-sided defender Aaron Cresswell will also be missing.
Cresswell felt his hamstring in last weekend’s 3-2 win over Leicester and was forced off before the hour mark, with it reported that he’s expected to be sidelined for 2-3 weeks as a result.
His 10 Premier League assists and superb delivery from set pieces and open play have been a big part of West Ham’s push towards the Champions League spots this season, making his potential absence another injury blow for the Hammers.
That said, they could welcome back centre-back and player of the season contender Angelo Ogbonna.
The Italian international has been missing since their 0-0 draw at Fulham in February but has recently returned to training – putting him in contention for Saturday’s early kick off at St James’ Park.
It promises to be a tough game even if Antonio, Rice and Cresswell miss out, however their absence in three key areas of the pitch can only help our cause – especially when we’re likely to welcome back Wilson and Saint-Maximin from the start!
