Allan Saint-Maximin now closing in on Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish – Photo

Allan Saint-Maximin may have missed several chunks of the season through injury, but new stats prove he’s one of the Premier League’s best creators when he plays.

As revealed by brilliant Twitter page ‘The Other 14‘, the Newcastle United winger is now closing in on Jack Grealish when it comes to chances created from open play per 90 minutes played.

Outside the ‘big six’, the Aston Villa star is the only Premier League player to create more chances (minus set pieces) than the Frenchman, with the winger averaging an impressive two per game.

See their latest table below following his stunning display in our 3-2 win over West Ham last weekend:

It’s interesting to see that Miguel Almiron also features on the list (1.30 chances created per 90), however it’s quite telling that he’s only created FOUR more chances than ASM – despite playing almost 900 minutes more this season!

This highlights just how key Saint-Maximin is to this Newcastle United, showing he’s not just an incredible dribbler with frightening pace and tricks, but also the club’s biggest creative force my some way.

Let’s hope his ankle injury is a minor one and he’s back firing on all cylinders when we travel to Anfield this Saturday!
