Last week, Steve Bruce confirmed ‘big discussions’ with take place with Arsenal over a potential permanent move for Joe Willock.
The NUFC boss has described him as a player he’d “love to build a team around”, with this stance likely to have strengthened after yet another crucial goal from the 21-year-old helped us to a 1-1 draw at Anfield.
With the player full of smiles, the manager making his feelings clear and fans desperate to keep him on Tyneside, we had a look at how Arsenal fans had responded to his form and talk of a summer move to St James’ Park.

Arsenal fans are so fickle do you not remember the last 2 seasons of sub par performances from him. Sell him and buy someone that will take the team up a level.
I’ve always thought Willock had something. He’s dominated in the Europa for us and now he’s scoring in the Prem. Some fans expect all our young players to be phenomenal at 21. Not everyone develops like Saka. If they show promise it’s mad to sell them too young.

Really like Joe Willock. Works hard, threat going forward, doesn’t shirk responsibility. Personally would love to see him part of next season’s squad. Fantastic loan move so far.
I really hope Arsenal don’t make the mistake of selling Willock this summer. We do not have any midfielder like him since Ramsey left.

Joe Willock honestly has the potential to be Aaron Ramsey without the injuries…Should be retained & given chances upon his return.
Out of all the players on loan I would keep him. Not the finished article but has qualities we don’t have in midfield. More goals than our 6 midfielders combined in the league also.

I don’t get it. What’s with Arsenal and wasting talent. Gnabry. Donyel Malan. Jeff Rene Adelaide. Emi Martinez. Joe Willock. William Saliba. Where’s the man/team management. Can’t they see the talent. They stick with Nketiah who hasn’t been any good. But they talented ones rot.

Willock has now scored 4x as many goals as all our Midfielders combined. Xhaka with 1 is all we have. Absolutely pathetic!
Bringing back Willock will prove that we have excepted mid table mediocrity. He doesnt even start for Newcastle
A real mixed bag from Arsenal fans.
Some seem to think he’s found his level and question why he’s not getting regular starts, while others feel he’s the goalscoring midfielder they lack and someone who must be given a chance to prove himself next season.
All that really matters is the player himself, the decision makers at Arsenal and the summer budget available to Steve Bruce, with some fearing his recent form could push his asking price beyond the £20m figure reported.
Whether it’s another loan or a permanent deal, let’s hope he’s back on Tyneside for 2021/22!
