‘Exclusive’ claims Newcastle have identified 25-goal striker as a summer transfer target

Newcastle are eyeing a summer move for Cameroon international Jean-Pierre Nsame, according to TEAMtalk.

Their latest ‘exclusive’ claims the prolific Young Boys striker on our summer wish list, but has also been attracting interest from a host of other Premier League sides – with West Ham, Southampton and Leeds also said to be keen.

The 6ft 2′ forward has been in stunning goalscoring form in the Swiss League, bagging 97 goals and 26 assists in 169 games for the Super League side.

He’s notched 25 times so far this season, however perhaps the most impressive statistic is the fact seven of those have arrived in his 11 appearances in Europe across 2020/21.

The 27-year-old is valued at just over £6m by Transfermarkt and is being tipped to seal a move to the Premier League this summer after well and truly conquering the Swiss League.

Whether this latest transfer link is true or not, it’s fair to say we could do with another option up, with Carroll likely to be released and us over-reliant on Wilson.

  1. All this transfer talk is nonsense, if Ashley is still here we won’t be spending £25 million on Young Boys striker or £20 million on Willock.
Olly Hawkins needs to take an aspirin and have a rest.
