It’s over! – Newcastle United officially safe as Fulham collapse confirms 3 relegated sides

I honestly didn’t think I’d be saying this just a matter of weeks ago, but we are officially safe and WILL be a Premier League side next season.

Fulham had to get a result against Burnley tonight to keep their faint chances of Premier League survival alive, however they ended up losing the game 2-0 at Craven Cottage.

From our perspective, they had to win ALL of their last four games to stay up at our expense, with us moving 12 clear of Scott Parker’s side after our 4-2 win at Leicester on Friday.

However, they almost looked defeated from the off in their 2-0 defeat to Burnley on Monday night and were beaten comfortably in the end by Sean Dyche’s Clarets.

After Sam Allardyce’s Baggies were officially relegated following Sunday’s 3-1 defeat at Arsenal, this now completes the bottom three – seeing Sheffield United, West Brom and Fulham drop down to the Championship ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Here’s an updated Premier League table in full, with Burnley overtaking ourselves after their big win in the capital:

  1. Yes we are safe BUT NOW is the time to Sack Bruce…

    …and get a MANAGER

Plus learn a lesson from this season = some players are out of contract for a very good reason – Hendrick and Backslider Fraser shouldn’t be in the premiership!

  2. You talk about Fulham’s collapse meaning we don’t get relegated.

How about some credit for the results Newcastle have had in the last few weeks, tying in with our best players being available.

I don’t think Bruce is the answer as manager but credit where credit is due, we have looked a lot better when the attack minded players are free from injury.
