The teams have been released ahead of tonight’s 6pm kick off at St James’ Park – a game that will see 10,000 fans return for the first time this season!
Steve Bruce has named an unchanged side, going with the 11 that pushed Man City in last Friday’s 4-3 thriller.
Matty Longstaff returns to the matchday squad and could make a sub appearance for the first time since January, however there’s sadly no Elliot Anderson – suggesting Bruce has decided not to risk the local lad after a recent hip injury.
Here’s the NUFC XI, expected formation and subs bench in full:
(5-3-2): Dubravka – Murphy, Krafth Fernandez, Dummett, Ritchie – Willock, Shelvey (c), Almiron – Saint-Maximin, Joelinton.
SUBS: Gillespie, Clark, Lewis, Manquillo, Hendrick, M Longstaff, S Longstaff, Carroll, Gayle
Andy Carroll will be one to watch from the bench, with him almost certain to feature in what will almost certainly be his last outing at St James’ Park.
Here’s Sheffield United’s starting 11 in full, with the Blades making one change from the side that beat Everton 1-0 on Sunday:
