Video: Alan Shearer celebration spotted in Sunderland & ex-Mag mocks the Mackems – Priceless!

Sunderland really are the gift that keeps on giving.

After losing their play-off semi-final first leg 2-0 at Lincoln on Wednesday night, they got off to a flying start in yesterday’s decider at the Stadium of Light – levelling up the tie with two first-half goals to give them hope of heading to Wembley and returning to the Championship.

Not only did they concede in the second 45 to lose the tie 3-2 on aggregate – resigning them to their fourth straight season in League One – Lincoln striker Tom Hopper reached his all important goal with a trademark Alan Shearer celebration!

Watch it below, followed by a brilliant full-time tweet from ex-Mag Tim Krul – proving the Norwich stopper is still a Geordie at heart!

A part of me didn’t want to rub salt into their increasingly deep wounds after the devastating defeat, but I’m quite glad most Mags on social media – and a former player in Krul – gave them both barrels after a large section of the crowd decided to boo players taking the knee seconds before kick off.

I do miss the rivalry and a Tyne and Wear Derby twice a year, but it seems we won’t be getting one of those anytime soon!

“Enjoy Burton away” they said when we went down under Benitez and Big Sam kept them up. How the tables have turned…
