Confirmed NUFC team vs Fulham – Joelinton out, new role for Almiron, Longstaff starts & ASM fit

The teams have been released ahead of today’s 4pm kick off at Craven Cottage – a game that thankfully has nothing riding on it as we arrive at the final day of 2020/21 still a Premier League club.

Steve Bruce has made ONE change from the side that beat Sheffield United, bringing in Sean Longstaff for Joelinton – a move that will see Miguel Almiron play higher up the pitch, it seems.

Schar is back on the bench after returning from a 3-game ban, Dubravka has been passed fit along with Saint-Maximin – two players who picked up knocks in midweek – and Matty Longstaff is on the bench.

Here’s the NUFC XI, expected formation and subs bench in full:

(5-3-2): Dubravka – Murphy, Krafth, Fernandez, Dummett, Ritchie – S Longstaff, Shelvey, Willock – Almiron, Saint-Maximin.

SUBS: Gillespie, Clark, M. Longstaff, Schar, Carroll, Gayle, Lewis, Hendrick, Manquillo.

A penny for Gayle’s thoughts. I’m not sure why he’s getting a new three-year deal when Wilson and Joelinton are out and he’s not getting a look in!

Also, Anderson must miss out with a hip injury (you’d presume!), denying him of any Premier League debut this season, but that means little when Bruce has kept a fit Matty Longstaff on the bench. Surely this is the ideal time to play one or two of our best U23 talents?!

Here’s the Fulham side Scott Parker has gone with, which sees the likes of Areola, Andersen, Aina, Lemina, Loftus-Cheek, Reed and Mitrovic miss out:
