Allan Saint-Maximin was in fine fettle on social media last night as he trolled both Fulham and Sunderland following our 2-0 win at Craven Cottage.
As our season drew to a close with a victory, our French wizard conjured up some wind-up antics to fire back at two sides who had poked fun at NUFC’s fortunes in the past.
Sunderland capitulated in their play-off tie against Lincoln, meaning they are set to spend their FOURTH season in League One, a division we have never been in throughout our entire 130-year history.
This prompted Saint Maximin to remind the Mackems of their words from little over two months ago, requesting a song for his playlist, much to the amusement of NUFC fans…
He wasn’t done there, as he did some investigative work to find tweets from Fulham’s account in 2016 that sarcastically welcomed ourselves to the Championship following our relegation.
This came to bite them on the backside as, for the second time in two years, NUFC gave them a beating on the final day to give them a brutal send-off to the lower leagues.
Here’s ASM’s message to Fulham five years after that infamous tweet of theirs:
Allan Saint-Maximin – a star on the pitch and equally entertaining on social media!
