New report claims NUFC are eyeing move for Ghana star ‘destined for a move to the Premier League’

According to FootballGhana.com, Newcastle are lining up a move for Vitoria SC star, Abdul Mumin.

Their ‘exclusive’ claims that ourselves, Aston Villa and Tottenham are all showing interest in the 22-year-old, with him being one of the top performing centre-backs in the Portuguese league across 2020/21.

Football Ghana – one of the leading outlets in Africa – state that he’s viewed as ‘one of the most exciting defensive prospects to come out Ghana’ and destined for a move to the Premier League.

The Sun have also credited us with an interest in the 6ft 2′ defender – who has helped Vitoria to a 7th placed finish and racked up nine clean sheets in his first season with the club following a move from Danish giants Nordsjaelland last summer.

They report that he’s been valued at £15m – although that seems pretty excessive for a relatively unproven talent who arrived on a free less than 12 months ago – and claim he is ‘quick, dominant in the air and has impressed technically’ on his debut season for the Guimaraes-based club.
