Alex Ferguson drools over “unbelievable” ex-NUFC star & shares brilliant Gascoigne story – Video

What a signing Paul Gascoigne would have been for Manchester United.

We bring up the Geordie great because Alex Ferguson has named him the one player he wished he signed when speaking to Gary Neville about his time in management.

He’s a legend in British football after what he did at The Toon, Spurs, Rangers and Middlesbrough in particular. Can you imagine if he’d gone to play under Sir Alex and his myriad of talent and been looked after the way Sir Alex says.

Watch what he had to say below, revealing some brilliant stories about the man who turned 54 this week – including one that featured a cheeky nutmeg and ‘pat on the head’ for former Red Devil Remi Moses:

Perhaps it would have kept him on the straight and narrow and goodness only knows what he’s have achieved given the freedom to play in a Manchester United side that would have put minders around him.

The way Sir Alex talks about him shows how highly he was rated and what a talent he was. Sir Alex says Gazza made a mistake not going to The Red Devils. Perhaps it was Martin Edwards that made the mistake of not buying Gazza’s parents a bigger house!

You can tell by the way Sir Alex talks about him how much he would have loved to have had him in his team. I could even imagine that Gazza would have been allowed a few “Remi Moses” moments in the famous red.
