Newcastle United set to announce double signing as two ‘big six’ talents agree deals – Reports

They’re not the high-profile senior signings many have been hoping for, however it looks like Newcastle United have added two young talents to their youth ranks.

The Athletic revealed earlier this week that the club had won the race to sign Liverpool centre-back Remi Savage, and it seems he’ll also be joined by former Arsenal attacker Shaun Mavididi, according to The Chronicle.

Savage is expected to sign a three-year deal and go straight into the club’s U23 set up, while Mavididi is set to pen a two-year deal on Tyneside following his release at The Emirates earlier this year.

Football Insider claim that we have beaten ‘a number of Premier League and Championship clubs’ to the 16-year-old’s signature, also reporting that he’s landed a contract after impressing during a recent trial.

Shaun is actually the brother of Stephy Mavididi – another former Gunner who had a spell at Juventus after completing a move to the Serie A giants back in 2018.

As for Savage, he’s already posted his goodbye message to Liverpool on his personal Instagram account, having rejected an offer to stay at Anfield in search of future first-team opportunities.

We’d like to welcome both to Tyneside and hope to see them competing for a place in the senior side before long!

  1. I’ll bet now the we never see either of them in the first team becaue our set up is rediculous.
    ANY TAKERS….?

  2. That’s 2 footballers who have just signed their professional life away. The amount of teenage prodigies we’ve signed that have disappeared like shergar is amazing. Yet again it’s another distraction for Bruce buying/loaning a couple of premier league reserve players.
