After spending the past week in Mykonos with Arsenal teammate Reiss Nelson, Newcastle United loan star Joe Willock appears to have had a surprise visitor on Monday night.
As shown on the 21-year-old’s Instagram story last night, he’s been joined on the Greek island by none other than Allan Saint-Maximin.
Both Willock and Nelson have been pictured doing a host of fitness drills in recent days, with Saint-Maximin also sharing clips of his holiday hill sprints earlier on Monday, however it seems the Frenchman has linked up with our former loanee for a game of Tennis!
This comes just a month after he urged the club to “buy more players like Joe Willock“, telling Sky Sports that his relationship with him is “really good” both on and off the pitch.
See our screenshot below from Willock’s Instagram story last night, featuring the caption ‘Mon gars’ – which is French for ‘my boy’:
Interestingly, The Athletic revealed yesterday that Arsenal will hold talks with Willock once he returns from his break and will listen to bids for the midfielder if a ‘suitable offer’ arrives.
Here’s a reminder of what Saint-Maximin had to say about the Gunners midfielder back in May – highlighting the importance of us turning his loan move into a permanent one:
“We have to buy more players like Joe Willock, he can be really great for the team and for myself, I am 24 years old, and have to think about the national team, about winning trophies, and hope the club can give me that.
“My relationship is really good with Joe inside and outside the pitch, and you can see how that helps a team when you have players like that – like Harry Kane and Heung-min Son at Tottenham.”
