Mehrdad Ghodoussi has responded to Mike Ashley’s explosive Thursday night message to the Premier League.
In a tweet posted just moments after the club statement was released, Ghodoussi – Amanda Staveley’s husband and a would-be board member should a Saudi takeover gone through – has backed our bid to gain transparency from the Premier League, insisting it’s ‘what all football fans deserve’.
Here’s what he had to say when quoting the club’s official statement last night:
Ghodoussi is spot on – transparency is exactly what football fans deserve after everything that’s gone on over the past year – however it’s difficult to get past the hypocrisy of Mike Ashley’s latest statement.
Considering Newcastle United have been absolutely notorious for leaving fans in the dark over the past 14 years, it’s almost laughable that Mike Ashley is now demanding clarity and communication for the sake of us supporters.
That said, Ghodoussi’s point still stands, with him communicating more with fans – albeit via social media – than Mike Ashley has over the past decade!
