Newcastle offered the chance to sign former target for £10m – Steve Bruce ‘is a fan’ – Report

According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United have been offered the chance to sign Ademola Lookman for £10m.

The winger came close to arriving at St James’ Park last January, but a deal failed to materialise in the end.

Fast forward 18 months, The Chronicle’s Mark Douglas claims he’s been offered our way – and it’s thought Steve Bruce ‘is a fan’ of the RB Leipzig man.

Lookman spent last season on loan at Fulham and was one of their shining lights in an otherwise disappointing relegation season under Scott Parker.

He’s believed to have been offered to a number of other Premier League clubs, with Southampton and Crystal Palace linked with a move for the former England U21 international.

Although we seem to be admirers, Douglas reports that we are currently prioritising moves for a couple of midfielders and a second spell on Tyneside for Joe Willock.

Not only that, there are also question marks over our ability to justify a £10m deal – which could be Bruce’s entire budget if recent reports are to be believed!

Would you like to see us make a move for Lookman?

It’d be a yes from me. With Murphy now used at wing-back, I make ASM and Fraser the only natural wide men at the club – not to mention the fact Lookman has the sort of pace and trickery to get fans off their seat this season.
