According to RMC Sport reporter Loïc Tanzi, Newcastle United have submitted a bid for FC Midtjylland star Jens Cajuste.
He reports that we have offered the Danish giants ‘€14m + €2m in bonuses‘ for the Swedish international midfielder who featured at Euro 2020 over the summer.
Tanzi states that Ligue 1 side Rennes are yet to make a ‘fourth offer’ after having three previous bids rejected for the 21-year-old talent who’s been heavily linked with a move to Brentford in recent weeks.
Here’s what the French journalist for RMC Sport had to say last night, revealing details of NUFC’s offer:
‘Newcastle have made an offer of €14million + 2million Bonus to Midtjylland for Jens Cajuste. Rennes have yet to make a fourth offer but the competition is now intensifying.’
The6ft 2′ defensive midfielder was linked with a move to St James’ Park just last month, with The Chronicle reporting that we had held talks with Cajuste’s representatives.
Lee Ryder’s piece also stated that sources in Denmark believed the Swede is ‘high on their priority list’ – and it seems we may have stepped up our interest.
This comes after L’Equipe reported yesterday that we’ve had a €14m bid rejected for Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara.

So we have only 10 million budget this summer, we’ve spent 23 on Willock and we have also made a 14 million Euro offer for another midfielder?
I suppose it could happen, if Longstaff gets sold, but to me it all seems a bit too “spendy” for Ashley.
