NUFC make move for ex-Barcelona talent – ‘Loan with option to buy’ on the cards – Report

According to reports in Italy, Newcastle have approached Roma over the potential signing of Carles Perez.

This comes from Calciomercato, who claim that we’ve upped our interest in the 23-year-old after tracking the former Barcelona talent for ‘more than a year.’

The report states that we are closing in on a deal for Joe Willock but are also eager to bring Perez to the club, seeing him as a ‘low cost’ option who could play in several positions.

Calciomercato say that Roma are eager to sell to boost their summer transfer budget, but suggest Jose Mourinho’s side could be open to a loan move – providing it includes an option or obligation for us to sign the Spaniard at the end of the 2021/22 season.

The Spain U21 international can play in several positions, being able to operate as an attacking midfielder or down either flank.

Another new name linked and one that may appeal give he’s young, versatile and a player who could fill the overseas loan slot we’re yet to make us of.
