BBC pundit has bad news for Steve Bruce as he reveals latest Newcastle United prediction

Mark Lawrenson believes it’ll be back-to-back defeats for Steve Bruce tomorrow, tipping Aston Villa to come away 2-0 winners in Saturday’s 3pm kick off.

The BBC pundit thinks a full house at Villa Park will serve as a huge advantage for the home side in a clash between two sides that lost on the opening weekend of the season.

Villa lost 3-2 at newly-promoted Watford last week and we all know what happened at St James’ Park, as we capitulated defensively having taken the lead twice against West Ham, losing 4-2 in the end.

Lawro backs Bruce to go with a similar ‘attacking approach’ in this one, but thinks it will once again work against us at the other end of the pitch – despite the fact they will be without Jack Grealish, Ollie Watkins and Bertrand Traore.

Here is what he said in his weekly column for the BBC:

Both of these sides lost their opening games and I wonder if Newcastle will stick with the more attacking approach that saw them ship four goals at home to West Ham.

Aston Villa did not do too much better, conceding three at Watford and leaving their comeback too late, but I am expecting more from them this time, especially at Villa Park.

I am mentioning the crowd being back a lot in these early weeks of the season and I think they will make a huge difference to the home form of some sides, including Villa.

The other thing with Villa’s fans is that they will be looking forward to seeing how their new-look side is shaping up. On that side of things, I think we will see Villa improving as their new faces bed in.

Lawro’s prediction: 2-0
