According to The Sun, David Beckham’s Inter Miami are ‘confident’ of beating Newcastle United to the signing of skilful Brazilian, Evander.
The report claims that we are in a straight shootout with the MLS side for the 23-year-old’s signature, but state that the FC Midtjylland star ‘prefers’ a move to America.
Evander is a central midfielder who can also play in a more advanced role. After seven goals and nine assists last term, he’s started the 2021/22 season with three goals in 10 appearances – scoring in the Dane’s Champions League qualifier win over Celtic last month.
Beckham’s franchise in south Florida has been anything but successful so far, with current boss Phil Neville under pressure.
They finished 10th out of 14 sides in 2020 and have started this season in poor form, picking up just 19 points in their opening 18 games.
A new name linked from a Newcastle United perspective, yet it perhaps says a lot about the player if he prefers to join a struggling MLS side over a big move to the Premier League.
Here’s a few clips of the Evander in action:
Don’t believe we were ever in for this kid. If there was half an interest it would have been a cheap alternative to Willock.
It’s not a position that needs strengthening at the mo – DCM, CB & CF ideally.

Mathias Normann looks better way better than this kid.
He is too similar to Almiron.
