Newcastle United star ‘keen’ to seal shock move to Premier League rivals by August 31st – Report

Watford are eyeing up a surprise move for Isaac Hayden before the transfer window slams shut on August 31, according to Football Insider.

The report claims that the Chelmsford born midfielder is unsettled on Tyneside and desires a move back down South – something we have heard on several occasions in recent years.

Hayden was forced off with a knee problem in Saturday’s defeat to Aston Villa and looks set to miss tomorrow’s cup clash wit Burnley as a result.

The 26-year-old signed a six-year contract less than 12 months ago and has publicly commented on his commitment to the club, admitting that he had personal struggles in the past but acknowledging that they are now dealt with.

Since being signed by Rafa Benitez in 2016, the midfielder has become one of the first names on our team sheet and one of few tacklers in the squad.

His reliability and ability to play in midfield or in defence has made him a fan favourite among the Toon Army, who admired his work-rate despite his wishes to leave being in the public domain.

Even if Watford do want to sign Hayden, you can bet that Mike Ashley will be demanding a huge fee as long as one of our players in tied down on a lengthy contract.

Not only that, it wouldn’t leave us long to find a much needed replacement should he make a surprise move to Vicarage Road.

Personally, I can’t see us selling him so late in the day and would be shocked if he really does want to swap Newcastle United for newly promoted Watford.

  1. Sick to death of hearing Bruce cry about no one wanting to buy NUFC players!!

Bloody hell = from what I’ve seen over the past 2 years, I’m not surprised – he’s taken the players value through the floor!

Then to compound the problems he’s meant to be adding quality players SO the existing think Hold on I’d better up my game…

..but they see Fraser and Hendrick on the bench and think me worries, I can play blindfolded and still be better.

The only value player is Gayle and that’s ONLY to a championship side as he’s brilliant in that league and worth around 18 million

Now back to the complete clown that’s Bruce = god he does cry A LOT

We can all see where we need players/quality and it ain’t another Midfielder from Leicester or Everton – that’s the only position Bruce buys (!?)

The one thing from the weekend – Spud’s got a new jacket

  4. there will be a lot more players ringing there agent’s to help them get a move if this take over dosent happen . I fear that are time fighting religation in the Premier league is about to end & that the,
well gess what championship beckons . we will not be missed & basically a championship team struggling to stay in the big league, run on a shoestring budget with a man worth 3bln who couldn’t care less as long as they stay up so he can keep pocketing the 100m + every session .this is the last time he is going to get that . I see three teams that I think will go down & am afraid we are one of those teams , the others being Norwich & the other being Watford.
