Moussa Sissoko set to join Premier League rivals, replacing £10m Toon target – Sky Sports

Ex-Mag Moussa Sissoko is on the move, closing in on a surprise switch to Watford before next Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

Sky Sports have confirmed that the 32-year-old has held positive talks with the newly promoted side, with ‘all parties’ expecting the deal to go through in the coming days.

The same piece states that he looks set to replace Will Hughes at Watford – a midfielder believed to be high on Steve Bruce’s wish-list earlier this summer.

As reported by Sky Sports, Hughes is set to have a medical at Crystal Palace today, with the Eagles ‘agreeing a deal worth £10m’ for the 26-year-old.

So, it looks like one in, one out at a club who could well be our relegation rivals this season, featuring one reported Toon target and a former midfielder who left the club following relegation in Sissoko.

The France international swapped St James’ Park for Spurs on Deadline Day in August 2016 and has gone on to make over 200 appearances for the north London club over the past five years.

A hypothetical question, with him too old for Ashley’s NUFC and on huge wages, but would you have taken Sissoko back this summer?

  1. He was dire 99% of the time.
He only played the games before the French squad was being named.

  2. No I wouldn’t he showed he didn’t care about the club, every player has ambition but his lack and respect for the club was evident.
