At 10am, Luke Edwards reported that Hamza Choudhury was all set to seal a loan move to St James’ Park, stating that Steve Bruce had got his man and was even pushing hard for ‘at least one more’ deadline day signing.
Not even 90 minutes later, a host of local journalists have been informed that the Leicester City midfielder will NOT be signing, with the club now insisting that we are closed for business as far as first-team signings are concerned.
Luke Edwards has described this as ‘scandalous’, predicting trouble ahead after Steve Bruce has been denied the late loan deal he thought had been sanctioned.
Not only that, Edwards claims that both Choudhury himself and Leicester City believed the move was going ahead, suggesting Newcastle United have pulled the plug on this deal – and any other potential senior signings – at the 11th hour.
As you can see below, these claims have also been shared by The Mail’s Craig Hope and The Gazette’s Miles Starforth.
What a complete and utter shambles.

ANOTHER season wasted, how long will it be before the TOON are back where they should have always been. I have been a supporter since 1946, am now 83yrs old and still a supporter, live in hope of seeing a takeover and better times ahead.
