Mike Ashley now holding up Hamza Choudhury’s move from Leicester to Newcastle – Report

With just two hours remaining until the transfer window slams shut, The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards has offered an infuriating update on our attempt to sign Hamza Choudhury on a late loan deal.

He claims that the 23-year-old ‘wants to come’, however the only thing blocking his proposed move to St James’ Park is our refusal to pay the loan fee Leicester City are demanding.

As a result, Edwards – a self-confessed ‘friend’ of Steve Bruce’s – fears we are now running out of time to get the deal done, with the window set to close at 11pm.

Here’s what he’s had to say in a 9pm update on the midfielder’s future, revealing how Mike Ashley’s refusal to stump up the cash looks set to cost us:

Elsewhere, Edwards’ colleague Mike McGrath claims that any deal for the Leicester City midfielder depends on a non-homegrown player leaving the club before tonight’s 11pm deadline.

One player who is believed to have attracted interest is Emil Krafth, however the fact we are needing one out before we can bring one in makes you wonder if Steve Bruce has decided to select FOUR goalkeepers in his 25-man squad!?

  1. If Bruce has selected four goalkeepers he is a T*T,
Or he is doing it deliberately to suck up to Ashley so he doesn’t have to spend.
    Probably both!

  4. Irons in the fire that’s a good one where on earth has the money gone? Leeds one season out the championship and are buying Norwich, Brentford, Burnley all spending and went through the pandemic, small clubs? yet Mikey broke balls is skinned? I dont buy it for a second we will probably hear in the near future his bought another distressed lemon of a company that needs saving, for a bargain, yet nufc are slowly drowning and the nufc fans will turn up in droves to see it happen week in and week out.

If Bruce has selected four goalkeepers he is a T*T,

So you think we should go into a season with only one fit keeper?
Or do you think we should just go with Woodman and Gillespie, and bin Dubravka and Darlow?

  8. I find it interesting that the journo scum have been playing the Choudhury loan up for weeks, yet just a few days ago Rogers was saying that Leicester have received ZERO offers for him?

Shame on you Olly, repeating this garbage when you know the only result is to rile up the mob.
