NUFC star spotted leaving team hotel on crutches as Bruce suffers new injury blow – Photo

Steve Bruce is set to be handed more injury woes as Toon winger Ryan Fraser has been spotted on crutches while on international duty with Scotland.

The former Bournemouth star withdrew from the Scotland squad yesterday, with manager Steve Clark stating he had a ‘knock’, however the latest pictures suggest it could be much more serious.

The 27-year-old was an unused substitute in The Tartan Army’s gutsy 1-0 win against Moldova, but has since been pictured outside the team hotel wearing a protective boot – not a good sight for Newcastle fans.

Here’s the concerning picture shared by talkSPORT last night:

We are yet to see much of Fraser since his free transfer from Bournemouth last summer, with some supporters questioning his attitude on arrival for the way he went about leaving The Cherries.

This season was dubbed make or break for his stuttering career on Tyneside, so it is not exactly ideal to see him limping about on crutches when we already have a depleted squad as it is.

News of Fraser’s injury will hardly be welcome to Bruce, who is already sweating over the fitness of Callum Wilson ahead of our trip to Man Utd on Saturday.

When NUFC signed the duo from Bournemouth we were promised Fraser + Wilson = goals, yet we have barely seen the pair together in action since their arrival.
