Confirmed NUFC team vs Man Utd – FOUR changes as Steve Bruce opts for new-look defence

Following a 2-2 draw with Southampton two weeks ago, Newcastle United take on Manchester United at Old Trafford today.

The team news has arrived ahead of the 3pm kick off, seeing us line up as follows against a Red Devils side featuring none other than Cristiano Ronaldo:

STARTING 11: Woodman – Manquillo, Hayden, Lascelles, Clark, Ritchie – S Longstaff, Willock, Almiron – Saint-Maximin, Joelinton.

SUBS: Darlow, Schar, Lewis, Hendrick, Krafth, Fernandez, Murphy, Gayle, White.

A new-look defence and four changes, with Manquillo, Hayden, Clark and Joelinton replacing Murphy, Schar, Fernandez and Wilson.

Elsewhere, Karl Darlow is back on the bench for the first time this season after recovering from Covid and U23 talent Joe White is included in the squad.

The following players are not involved in today’s game:

  • Callum Wilson – Ruled out with a thigh strain. Bruce reckons he’ll be missing for a few weeks.
  • Ryan Fraser – Ruled out after twisting his ankle while away with Scotland.
  • Jonjo Shelvey – Remains out with a calf injury.
  • Martin Dubravka – Still out with an infected foot following surgery.
  • Paul Dummett – Trained prior to the Southampton game but was absent from Thursday’s session.

Here’s how Man Utd line up, seeing Ronaldo, Fernandes, Greenwood and Sancho all start:
