Watch Steve Bruce snap at journalist as he loses it in post match presser at Man Utd – Video

Steve Bruce has lost the plot.

It’s been clear for some time that he’s been out of his depth, both on and off the field, and it seems he’s now snapped after being asked a few difficult questions after yesterday’s 4-1 defeat at Old Trafford.

Not only did he refuse to give a proper response to a journalists asking for his thoughts on the ‘Bruce out’ chants coming from the away end, he unleashed a quite incredible rant at Lee Ryder.

After defending his decision to go on holiday during the international break, he then claimed The Chronicle were partly to blame for ‘the way we are’ – ‘we’ being the Newcastle fans who have apparently been brainwashed by the paper’s negativity!

Watch his unbelievable outburst below:

Bruce’s response to ‘Bruce out’ chants at Old Trafford:

“What can I say to that?

“What do you want me to say?! I’m delighted about it?

“I can’t comment on that, I’m sorry.”

Bruce when asked if he went on holiday leading up to the game:

“Oh wow…go on.

“Do you think I really need to answer that to you, Lee?

“That’s what the fans are asking, are they?

“We have trained all week and we were in every day.

“The preparation was meticulous.

“Let me tell you. There is nothing more in preparation…

“What was I supposed to do? We had six of them away.

“The preparation was fine and we have been in all week.

“You could see the game plan was what we worked to.

“To have to answer questions like that is typical to the question I would get off you – and your newspaper.

“If I am being brutally honest.

“That’s why they are the way they are, the way you are and your negativity constantly…and your newspaper.”

  1. Bruce is spot on. Those that publish articles to the public, do have the ability to influence fans. This blog is just about the worst for it, micro analysing every single Bruce comment in the hope they can find something to use against him. It’s pathetic.

People talk about Newcastle being the best fans in the world, in reality they are passionate but nowhere near the best. The ‘best’ would be supporters who get behind their team. Take Southampton for example. Lost their three best players this summer, have awful owners too, yet still get behind their team better than we do.

  2. Because Southampton have their own identity, which they stick to even after 8 nil hammerings and a decency and courtessy to the club and supporters.
I didn’t need the chronicle to tell me when Bruce was appointed that he wasn’t good enough I knew that from his previous experience.
I didn’t need the chronicle to tell me that we have an unbalanced squad I can see that for myself.

I don’t do tactics, taking a holiday but then saying we couldn’t have prepared better, it’s bonkers.
He played at Old Trafford for years his experience over the last ten days of what to expect, what frustrates them etc would surely have been valuable to a team of players who are struggling, nah the bloke went on holiday instead, says it all

  3. Brucie looks a bit deranged in that picture. Like a crazy Bernard Cribbins.

I always find it funny about his derogatory nicknames – Doubtfire, Bagpuss, Cabbage. He does resemble all of them 🙂

  4. There’s even one on a website I cant remember where there is a pie that has vents cut in it and looks like Bruce. It is pretty funny, because it does look like him.

He is becoming comical and annoying at the same time now !!!

    😆

Aye, that’s right. It’s our fault fans are negative when it comes to NUFC / Steve Bruce.

I think you’ll find it’s his constant talking down of the club, his players and abysmal management that does that, Brian.

  6. Count up how many anti Bruce posts you guys produce per year. Easily in the hundreds. Most of which is unnecessary and unjustified.

You are missing the point. The fans should be a football club’s identity. But no, instead of getting behind the team, they choose not to. You can still protest about the owner or even manager after the game but during the match the fans should be behind the players.

In my view, Newcastle may well have been relegated with the fans in the stadium laat season and the discontent this year, makes us prime candidates once again. A lot of it is self-defeating.
