Confirmed NUFC team vs Watford – Surprise boost for Steve Bruce as Joe Willock starts

Following our 1-1 draw with Leeds last Friday, Newcastle United take on Watford at Vicarage Road today.

The team news has arrived ahead of the 3pm kick off, seeing us line up as follows against a Hornets side that features ex-Mags Moussa Sissoko and Danny Rose.

STARTING 11: Darlow, Manquillo, Fernandez, Clark, Ritchie, Hayden, S Longstaff, Willock, Almiron, Joelinton, Saint-Maximin.

SUBS: Gillespie, Schar, Lewis, Krafth, Hendrick, Murphy, Fraser, Anderson, Gayle.

It’s difficult to know if it’s 5-2-3 – with Hayden at centre-back – or more of a 4-3-3, but it’s great to see that Joe Willock has made it – despite Steve Bruce indicating just yesterday that a toe injury would keep him out.

Elsewhere, Fernandez comes in for the injured Lascelles and Joelinton keeps his place, meaning Fraser, Gayle and Murphy have been forced to settle for a place on the bench.

Here’s how the hosts will line up, with danger man Ismaila Sarr the one to watch after terrorising the Norwich defence last weekend:

Howay the lads!
