According to Luke Edwards, Steve Bruce is NOT in danger of being sacked by Newcastle United.
This comes after reports in Italy claimed earlier today that an exit was ‘around the corner’ for the NUFC boss, stating that former Napoli manager Gennaro Gattuso was ‘on alert’ over the potential vanancy.
However, The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards – a well known friend of Bruce’s – insists that his contacts at the club believe he is not under any pressure and won’t be sacked any time soon.
He claims that Toon chiefs believe recent performances ‘have deserved more points’ and feel the dressing room is right behind the manager, meaning his job is not under any threat – despite the fact we’ve failed to win all season and are already out of the cup.
Edwards has also issued a sobering update on the hearing set to take place this week regarding the failed Saudi takeover, insisting it’s a ‘preliminary hearing’ to decide whether the CAT case will even go ahead in the first place, with the Premier League pushing to have it thrown out.
At the end of this update, he states that the Saudi deal is ‘not any closer to happening’, reminding fans that there’s still a long way to go, even if this week’s hearing goes well for Mike Ashley.
