‘Sounds like good news’ – Rare injury boost arrives at Newcastle United

Joe Willock is not expected to face a lengthy spell on the sidelines and should be back for our next fixture against Spurs, according to The Daily Mail’s Craig Hope.

Our summer signing was forced off the field in Saturday’s dismal 2-1 defeat to Wolves, causing Toon fans to fear the worst amid a growing list of players already on the treatment table.

Willock was pictured with a supporter in a protective boot ahead of our clash with Watford a week ago and, despite Steve Bruce telling the press he would miss that game, he was in the starting lineup just 24 hours later.

Sections of Newcastle fans were infuriated when he did limp off at Molineux at the weekend, with some suspecting that the midfielder was playing through an injury and any added time out could have been prevented.

Thankfully for us, however, it seems the knock isn’t as bad as first feared and he should be back for the Spurs game, as we look to claim our first win of the 2021/22 season.
