Some truly brilliant footage has emerged from St James’ Park over the last few moments, showing Amanda Staveley arriving at the stadium for her first day of work following the completion of her Saudi-backed takeover bid yesterday.
Staveley not only addressed the media just outside the Milburn Reception – alongside husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi – but also spent time shaking the hands of elated Newcastle fans who turned up to see the start of a new era on Tyneside.
The financer admitted she had ‘goosebumps’ upon her arrival, with Ghodoussi stressing that big decisions will be made in the coming days that are ‘right for the club.’
Watch both videos below, captured by the BBC’s Dan Roan and Sky Sports’ Keith Downie:
A magical moment to see new faces finally walk through the door.
Not only are we backed by serious money, it feels like Staveley and her husband are sincere and incredibly passionate about this purchase.
Let’s hope this is the start of something special at St James’ Park.
