New footage shows Staveley & Ghodoussi meeting NUFC squad as club drop telling hint

A brilliant video has emerged from the club’s official Twitter account today, showing Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi meeting the Newcastle United squad for the very first time.

The pair were at the club’s Benton base earlier today, where they are believed to have held face-to-face talks with Steve Bruce during a 90-minute visit to the training ground.

The video shows Staveley and Ghodoussi shaking hands with the likes of Allan Saint-Maximin, Jamaal Lascelles, Martin Dubravka and Federico Fernandez – who appears to have had a more lengthy chat with the pair.

Interestingly, the footage does not show Steve Bruce – despite the fact he took training today – while the 38 official photos from Monday’s session don’t feature him once. A telling hint? I think so.

Watch for yourself below:

It’s lovely to see our new co-owners interacting with the squad, shaking the hands of players and staff, ahead of Sunday’s crucial clash with Spurs at St James’ Park.

Bruce’s absence speaks volumes considering he was present. It seems he won’t be sacked today, however his departure appears to be imminent, with Graeme Jones expected to become our caretaker manager.

Also, it’s promising to see Callum Wilson, Joe Willock and Jamaal Lascelles in the training photos – suggesting all three might just be fit for this weekend’s game.

  1. The only clip I seen of Bruce was him wandering alone talking on his ‘phone. Hopefully crying to his Missus.
