Jamie Reuben makes new vow to NUFC fans after attending first game at St James’ Park

Fresh from his first game at St James’ Park, Newcastle United board member Jamie Reuben has sent a heartening message to Toon fans following Sunday’s 3-2 defeat to Spurs.

The 34-year-old admits it was “not the result we wanted”, but has thanked the Toon Army for the “special reception” and “amazing support for the team”, vowing to ‘build’ and ‘come back stronger’ after we made it eight games without a win this season.

Jamie also sent his thoughts to the man who suffered a heart attack in the East Stand just moments before half-time, wishing the unwell supporter a speedy recovery.

Thankfully, he is believed to be in a stable condition after being responsive in the RVI hospital soon after the game finished at St James’ Park.

Here’s what Reuben had to say after the game:

“Not the result we wanted – but a special reception and amazing support for the team – thank you.

We will build and come back stronger. Our thoughts at this time are with the unwell fan and wishing a speedy recovery.”

He also had this to say to Sky Sports’ Jamie Redknapp prior to the game:

  1. Bruce’s comments after the game baffled me – we’re too easy to score against and it’s been like this ALL season (!?)

One game it didn’t was the Burnley game in the cup – we went out on penalties – he played Lewis instead of Richie and were solid – he is a LB – a couple of errors but anyone coming in will need a few games to adjust

What needs to be done immediately IS to get Lewis in and also remove Joelington and replace with a midfielder – there’s enough attacking options without someone standing around waiting for the ball to feet

One would have thought that Bruce with his background that he would have drilled the back 4/6

While Wilson was injured we needed cover BUT Bruce got rid of 2 strikers and didn’t replace; with only Gayle on the bench who never gets used (!?)

Bruce saying that he wasn’t after a striker in the summer just a another midfielder (!?)
    ….
For me Bruce has been trying to get the huge payoff for months

  2. The fans what Bruce out do them a favour and get rid of Steve get a manager who will turn the team around and take us back where we belong up to the top of the league
