According to Sky Sports, Eddie Howe and Lucien Favre are the two names currently under consideration for the vacant Newcastle United job alongside Paulo Fonseca.
Since Steve Bruce was sacked earlier today, it’s been reported by a host of outlets that Fonseca has held talks with the club, with The Telegraph even stating that he’s Amanda Staveley’s preferred choice.
In addition, Pete Graves claims the Portuguese coach is currently viewed as the ‘frontrunner’ for the job and a potentially ‘exciting appointment’ for Newcastle United fans.
That said, the Sky Sports presenter has revealed that former Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is also under consideration alongside Lucien Favre – the Swiss manager who most recently worked at Borussia Dortmund.
Here’s what he’s had to say in a Wednesday afternoon update for Sky Sports News:
Interestingly, 90min reporter Graeme Bailey reported yesterday that all three were leading contenders for the job and set for ‘final interviews’ this week.
