Jose Mourinho tells Sky Italy why he won’t be joining Newcastle United just yet…

Jose Mourinho has declared his commitment to Roma when asked about the possibility of taking over at Newcastle.

The Portuguese manager has flirted with a move to Tyneside in the past, even going as far to say last year that he was a “little Magpie” due to his connections with Sir Bobby Robson.

I personally, would love to see “The Special One” in the dugout at St James’ Park one day, but it appears now just isn’t the time to do so.

Many suspected that our new-found wealth may be a huge factor in tempting a heavyweight elite manager like Mourinho to the club, with his history of being at clubs that spend big making him a clear candidate for the job.

However, while speaking to Sky Italia, he ruled out any move to Newcastke completely, which is hardly surprising considering he has been in Rome a matter of months.

Here’s what he’s had to say:

“Newcastle job? I’ve decided to stay, I’m not leaving.

I signed for three years project with Roma and I’m not gonna leave my players”

If recent comments and reports are anything to go by, that’s now Brendan Rodgers, Graham Potter, Antonio Conte, Zinedine Zidane and Rafa Benitez who’ve ruled themselves out of the running to replace Steve Bruce.
