Graeme Jones reveals message from new owners & truth behind Steve Bruce relationship

Graeme Jones has been speaking to the press for the first time as the club’s ‘interim’ manager in the last few moments, discussing his new role, Steve Bruce’s exit and tomorrow’s game.

He has confirmed that the new owners have asked him to take charge of our next TWO games – meaning he looks set to be in the dugout for upcoming games against Crystal Palace and Chelsea – and has had ‘assurances’ from Amanda Staveley over his long-term future at the club.

Jones also spoke fondly of Steve Bruce, insisting he had a great relationship with the 60-year-old, both from a personal and professional perspective.

The Gateshead-born coach sounded buoyant when it came to the player’s motivation levels ahead of tomorrow’s crucial trip to Selhurst Park, saying they’ve trained well, are ‘ready’ and ‘all know their jobs’ going into the game.
