Michael Owen reacts to Eddie Howe news – Reveals two things he noticed while working with him

Former Newcastle United striker Michael Owen has heaped praise on Eddie Howe ahead of his seemingly imminent arrival at St James’ Park.

He believes the 43-year-old will prove to be a “very smart move” by the club, naming a few things that impressed him when he worked alongside Howe on the Premier League World show over the past year.

Owen describes the former Bournemouth boss as “extremely knowledgeable”, also revealing how he struck him as a “very good man manager.”

Here’s what the ex-Toon flop told his 3.7million Twitter followers when reacting to news of Howe’s expected arrival on Tyneside:

“If Eddie Howe is confirmed as NUFC manager, I’d say that’s a very smart move by the club.

“I’ve had the privilege of working with him over the last year or two on The Premier League world feed and he’s extremely knowledgeable.

“He also strikes me as a very good man manager.”

Now, Owen has made a habit of talking rubbish during his time as a football pundit, however it’s yet another ringing endorsement.

Let’s hope he can galvanize the players immediately and help turn around our awful start to the 2021/22 season.

  1. Lampard is the right man for NUFC right now – we are 5 years of building before we even think about a Pep or Klopp!

But sadly it’s going to be Howe – I say sadly is because Amanda has been shown up to her partners and it’s now just getting a body in…

..and compound this with keeping Jones – the mastermind behind this season as Bruce stayed in his office to let him run things…

..and then on the player’s side we’ve got Backslider Fraser

Unless the club got rid of ALL obstacles for Howe = it’s going to be a Disaster and could ruin her relationship with the Saudi’s…

..and another farce in trying to get ANYONE as we fall into the championship

Our owners have that much money – like you with fantasy football manager – they can just forget about NUFC and get another play thing — THAT’S why it’s SO IMPORTANT to get this one right

  2. Unai Emery would have been a coup and a big name to make some nice headlines. Byt for someone who galvanise the whole club, Howe is a much better fit. I’ve wanted Howe to replace Bruce for a long time because he is a promising young manager that continues to update himself. Personally, the only other manager I would rather have right now is Benitez. Full support to Howe if and when he is confirmed.

  3. Let’s face it -any manager Newcastle appoint is going to be an upgrade on Bruce so if it is to be Howe let’s get behind him and give him a chance to turn things around. ❗
