Sky Sports have issued an update on Eddie Howe’s seemingly imminent arrival at Newcastle United.
It’s been widely reported that the 43-year-old WILL be appointed as our new manager today, and Keith Downie has now revealed that he looks set to travel up to Tyneside in the coming hours to put pen to paper over a two-and-half-year deal.
Downie has also named four staff members who’ll be joining Howe at St James’ Park – former assistant Jason Tindall, Simon Weatherstone (coach), Steven Purches (coach) and Dan Hodges (fitness coach).
Watch what he had to say in his latest update for Sky Sports below:
So, it seems the issue that emerged on Saturday afternoon may have been sorted, with Howe expected to be unveiled at some stage today after sitting next to Amanda Staveley during our 1-1 draw with Brighton.
Although he is not mentioned in Downie’s update, it’s been reported that Graeme Jones will remain at the club as a first-team coach.
RAFA must be staying after Everton draw.

Hope Eddie Howe’s first action is to tell Ryan Fraser to sling his hook, not only following his no show when Bournemouth were struggling, but I note he is on the sick again, he is a total waste of space.
Pleased he is bringing a fitness coach with him because the late and clumsy tackles are probably due to lack of fitness and pace.
Good luck Eddie! You must have the heart of a lion taking this job on.

Jones has got us two unlikely away points.
Both times the team showed real team spirit and fought back.
Frazer and Howe know each other very well and Frazer was entitled to leave Bournemouth and sign for us. All sorted between them.
We need all the players in the club that we think have been under-performing to get fitter, get their confidence back and play their hearts out for Eddie Howe and the Toon Army.
Perhaps he can light a fire and we’ll be pleasantly surprised by what a good professional coach can do for this neglected squad.

Now is the time to get behind the club, owners, players and coaches and show our support. For me it’s a clean slate for everyone and a chance for each Individual to prove their worth to the new owners and us fans. It’s time to stop slating coaches and players and asking for them to be moved on because it isn’t helpful to anyone at the club. you’ve all got my backing 100%, so let’s see what you can all do.
