Howe spotted with sporting director before NUFC move & ‘would love’ to work with him – Report

The Sun’s Alan Nixon is reporting that Eddie Howe met Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards last week and ‘would love’ to work with him at Newcastle.

Now NUFC have appointed a manager, it appears the next move from our new owners will be to appoint a sporting director to oversee footballing matters moving forward.

Howe was spotted linking up with Edwards – an ‘old mate’ – in Liverpool before he watched the Reds’ Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid.

The Northern Echo also report that Staveley has connections at Liverpool and would be confident in luring Edwards, one of the best in the business at his job, to a new challenge on Tyneside.

Former Chelsea supremo Michael Emenalo, who oversaw transfer activities at Stamford Bridge during a 10-year decade of dominance, has also been linked to a Newcastle move.

This came from The Telegraph, who claimed earlier today that he is now the ‘leading contender’ for the role after being spotted holding talks with our new owners in Saudi Arabia.

First it was players, then it was managers… not it looks as though the next media circus will revolve around who NUFC Will about to be their new sporting director.
