NUFC TV have released Eddie Howe’s first big interview as Newcastle United’s new head coach following his first full day in the job yesterday.
The 43-year-old says he is ‘honoured’ to land the role and very grateful to the new owners for the opportunity.
Howe reveals that his first day on Tyneside was a productive one, saying the players responded excellently to a tough training session on Tuesday.
He also talked about the importance of team spirit, hard work and an attacking style of play that can excite fans at St James’ Park and secure Premier League safety this season.
Watch the brilliant 10-minute interview in full below:
You can just tell he lives and breathes football and will give everything he’s got to turn things around on Tyneside after our winless start to the season.
He seems intelligent, dedicated, passionate about playing good football and willing to take risks – insisting he wants his side to impose themselves on the opposition, not sit back and let games pass them by.
