Two Premier League loan deals now on NUFC’s radar ahead of January transfer window – Report

Newcastle United have identified Man Utd’s Donny van de Beek and Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek as potential January loan targets, according to new reports.

CaughtOffside claim that both have been put to Eddie Howe by the club’s recruitment team, with the 43-year-old believing to be keen to bolster his midfield options in January.

Van de Beek has struggled for game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjær, featuring just twice in the Premier League this season following a £35m move from Ajax last September.

As for Loftus-Cheek, he’s actually been given a few opportunities to impress Thomas Tuchel this term, playing some part in each of their last six league games.

That said, only two of those have been starts, meaning the German coach could be open to loaning out the 25-year-old this winter.

CaughtOffside claim that several names have been put to Howe ahead of the January transfer window – these being two of them – however it’s said ‘final targets’ haven’t yet been agreed upon.

Both would certainly add quality, drive and some added goal threat to our side, although there’d be plenty of interest in the pair should they be allowed to leave on loan.
