Mehrdad Ghodoussi releases powerful message to NUFC fans in response to Eddie Howe blow

Co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi has sent a powerful message to Newcastle United fans heading to today’s game at St James’ Park.

We arrive seeking our first so of the season following a dismal start to the not so new campaign, however we’ll have to do it without Eddie Howe.

Today’s clash with an out of form Brentford side – who’d lost each of their last four league games – was meant to be the 43-year-old’s first game in charge of the club, only for him to test positive for COVID-19 just yesterday.

Just minutes after the disappointing news broke last night, Ghodoussi – the husband of Amanda Staveley – sent this brilliant message to Toon fans on Twitter:

Let’s put all our might behind the team tomorrow, let’s roar and let the world know, this is our house, this is Newcastle.

Howe’s absence is a real shame, especially after all the work he’ll have done on the training ground over the past 10 days.

However, our job is even more important now. We must stick behind the players from first minute to last and whip up a siege mentality that might just be vital in getting us a much needed win.

Howay the lads!
