Confirmed NUFC team vs Arsenal – 3 changes as Fraser, Krafth & Dubravka all start

Following our 3-3 draw with Brentford last weekend, Newcastle United take on Arsenal at the Emirates today – where Eddie Howe WILL be back on the sidelines after testing negative for Covid.

The team news has arrived ahead of the 12.30m kick off live on BT Sport, seeing us line up as follows:

STARTING 11: Dubravka – Fraser, Krafth, Lascelles, Schar, Ritchie – Shelvey, Willock – Saint-Maximin, Joelinton, Wilson.

SUBS: Darlow, Clark, Lewis, Manquillo, Hayden, Hendrick, Longstaff, Murphy, Almiron

So, Howe has brought Martin Dubravka back into the side for his first start of the season, seeing Karl Darlow drop down to the bench after his poor display last time out.

Ryan Fraser has also replaced Jacob Murphy in the side, while Emil Krafth has come in for Ciaran Clark – yet there’s still no Federico Fernandez in the squad.

The question is, are we playing a 3-4-3, as we did vs Brentford, with Fraser at right wing-back and Krafth in a back three, or is ‘wee man’ out wide in more of a 4-4-2 / 4-2-3-1? Time will tell, but we reckon it’s the former.

Paul Dummett remains out, while Elliot Anderson isn’t involved after suffering an injury before the U23’s clash with Aston Villa was postponed last night.

Here’s how the hosts line up this afternoon:
